In non-election recount related news, I had a breakthrough on Ancestry dot com last night, finally picking up the trail for my paternal grandmother’s side of the family, which turns out to be Dutch and German. My mother had mentioned a Dutch line of the family to me so this confirms that. I’d been hindered in the search before due to a name misspelling, or to a change in the spelling of a name. So I have one family line that immigrated from England in or about 1888 (my maternal grandmother’s side), and a Dutch line that immigrated (to America I should add) in 1847.

Way cool. I had a major breakthrough on one of my Germans. An Aussie whose great was probably my dads great grandfather’s brother.
