I was first exposed to the accursed green bean casserole at church potluck dinners and similar gatherings. My mother would not have been caught dead trying to feed such an abomination to her family. It seems to be a favorite of the Southern Baptists though. I wonder if anyone ever serves the stuff at home?

Oh, yes. Mainstay of potlucks around here. Of course, potlucks for people of a certain age. Church dinners, Methodist as well as Baptist and Presbies.
