To the two who downdinged me: If you’re Mormons, or Masons, and I’ve offended you - tough.

The historical truth is that Masonry was the second-biggest source for Mormonism after Christianity. Their secret rituals and handshakes are in some cases virtually identical.

And the hysterical truth is that Magic Underpants are just damn funny…

There are commonalities between masonic ritual and Mormon temple ritual that have to do more with sacred/secret societies than the doctrines taught in either organization. If you want to know the truth you can discuss it with some very well versed Masons who happen to be LDS and who post in forums on line.

There is nothing “magic” or funny about the sacred garment worn after someone has gone through the temple for the first time. Stories of rare miracles notwithstanding the garment “protects” us by insuring modesty and reminding us of our covenants and to obey God.
