We are basically saying the same thing so there’s no need to argue about it. There were contacts but no operational relationship developed. Mostly from bin Laden’s objections but not for lack of Iraq’s overtures. The wiki article seems fairly accurate. It’s an interesting refresher.

Obviously, everything is connected to everything, and we can always find a chain of connections. But context matters, and in the context of the discussion it is all too clear that there were no such kinds of connections between Al-Qaeda and Saddam.
