re: #6 Aceofwhat?

Anyone who thinks that a high-profile position, at nearly any organization, isn’t subject to unwritten rules about not embarrassing the bejesus out of said organization is a putz.

Actually, there are written rules warning that actions or utterances that besmirch the company’s reputation will be cause for punishment, including dismissal, at many if not most places of employment these days.

In the past, adults were expected to simply know that such behavior was unacceptable. Now, apparently, they need it spelled out for them. Or companies feel compelled to put such apparently obvious restrictions in writing in order to ensure that they won’t be the target of a misguided wrongful discharge suit.
