Indeed. Can you imagine, I mean can you seriously IMAGINE telling yourself that leading trainloads of innocent men, women, and children to their deaths in gas chambers is “just following orders”? That makes my head want to explode.

It wasn’t just that. It was often mixed in with a good dollop of Jew-hate, even among the men who ran the railroads. The Reichsbahn (the German state railway) ran the trains to the death camps with a high degree of efficiency, and there is no way the dispatchers and train engineers did not know what was going on.
