Willard Romney has got to be feeling like the captain of the Titanic right now. He is on top of the world, all but crowned as the GOP nominee, then he loses three in a row to Foamy and might very well lose one to Ron Paul. It must be like going out with the prom queen only to have her ditch you in favor of a tryst at the Motel 6 with the class nerd.

As bad as he’s feeling, imagine how the GOP leadership’s feeling right now. Mittens was their boy, the guy they’d chosen to bear the flag this go around, and yet he’s lost more primaries than he’s won. Even now, Santorum’s beating him 9% in Michigan and within ten points in Arizona, both states that were solidly in Romney’s pocket a month ago. He has to come from behind and take both, or else he might as well start writing his concession speech.
