Morning from the real Virginia: Ralph Northam’s Virginia where people from all walks of life are represented by delegates in our House of Delegates. One of my favorite things about last night was hearing Governor elect Northam in his particular Tidewater drawl talking about the diversity that makes this nation great. This isn’t the Byrd Machine Virginia that Steve Bannon and my own parents were born into. No, this is modern Virginia where all are welcome. I couldn’t be more prouder with last night’s results. Had a personal disappointment as my House district did not flip but last night was awesome and a great lesson about working together. I read about some truly wonderful people not just in my own state who got elected last night but from Montana where a former Liberian refugee became mayor of a city to New Jersey where two immigrants, who were targeted by racist ads questioning why they should be on the school board prevailed.

You also got rid of Bob Marshall and replaced him with a trans-gender woman. How about that?
