So from my earlier post: I was successful in frying home-cut French fries. They turned out amazing. I soaked them in water in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, drained and dried them, fried them for 5 minutes at 300 degrees F, 5 minutes more at 375 degrees F, and they came out crispy and golden. I tossed them with sea salt and they were every bit as good as fries out of a bag or from a restaurant. It’s a lot of prep work, but I’m so glad to finally be successful in making crispy, tasty home fries.
