Yeah, only two in the US to really worry ‘bout are the brown recluse and the black widow. The rest, the bite will get painful and swollen for a bit, but unless you’re allergic, that’s the worst you’ll experience.

The thing about the BR is that the initial bite reaction gives you no idea about how large or bad the thing will evolve into over days / weeks. I think Dad said the scab when he first noticed it was really small, just a few square millimeters at most in size. He said the debridement treatment was really awful too, that even with the local it’s just goddawful painful as they transition between dead and living tissue.
