The Monument Mall in Scottsbluff was dying. A development firm bought the mall, rehabilitated it both in and out, got new anchor stores for the ones that had closed, rebuilt the streets around it at their expense, and did a grand re-opening.
The mall now is an anchor for business in that part of Scottsbluff, but curiously is not affecting the downtown businesses.
Iād think they would be great medical centers ā A place for the elderly to do their walking, good jobs for conserage types and wheel chair pushers (like at the airport). The big anchor stores could be surgical centers or office buildings.
Buses and public transportation already have mall service.
