Doesn’t the break even also depend on inflation? If inflation returns, then you would recover the money in a shorter period.

If SSA increased payments due to inflation, both early and full retirees would get adjust, so no difference. If for some reason they adjust full and not early, then yes. Off the top of my head.
On the issue of losing SS due to making too much income during early retirement, you don’t lose it. At full retirement it is calculated back in to your benefit. See this document, info near bottom on page 6.
