Greets and saluts from the Resistance in the snowy and slushy NYC metro area.
We’ve got a mixed bag of precip on tap today.
Trumpworld has the usual shitstorm of ongoing agitprop and misinformation, though it looks like they’ve turned it up to 11.5 today.
For starters, we’ve got a top WH aide who should never have been allowed anywhere near the WH if they did any kind of proper screening. Extreme vetting my ass. This should have been picked up and flagged, but apparently no one seems to think domestic violence and assaults are red flags:
Senior White House aide Rob Porter physically assaulted two ex-wives, they tell @theintercept. Full story to come in the morning.
His first wife, Colbie Holderness, provided these photos from a vacation they took together in Florence, Italy: pic.twitter.com/tl3TbyGA8Y— Ryan Grim (@ryangrim) February 7, 2018
Trump hired him anyways.
Where was that extreme vetting he claimed he would do?
Oh wait, it only applies to minorities, women, and illegal aliens, not people who work for him who broke the law. https://t.co/UYYlLSUsuG— lawhawk (@lawhawk) February 7, 2018
Then there’s the nonstop bleating about how Obama tried to get information about ongoing FBI investigations.
1. If you are watching Fox News this morning or reading any right-wing website you may have heard about a new BOMBSHELL report that exposes serious misconduct by BARACK OBAMA.
Well, I looked into it, and it is a complete fraud. https://t.co/ERFGVMo6Dh pic.twitter.com/ebuJsooSAM— Judd Legum (@JuddLegum) February 7, 2018
Well, of course it’s a total fraud. It’s a misinformation campaign to deflect attention from far worse things that Trump and GOP are doing right now.
This is their ongoing pattern of deception, obstruction, and conspiracy. https://t.co/i3YyV4AipH— lawhawk (@lawhawk) February 7, 2018
If you thought that was a BS misinformation campaign, you’d be right.
There’s a huge difference between getting information and obstruction of justice by shutting down investigations.
Trumpworld and the right wing echo chamber want to conflate the two. Trump did the latter. The former isn’t criminal, let alone any indication of wrongdoing or interference in ongoing investigations.
