Well, I’m not going to convince anyone I guess of the difference between cowardice (not showing up for town halls to meet your constituents) and debates (not giving away an advantage in an election through a misstep or fumbled answer).

There is a lot more strategy to an election than kissing hands and shaking babies. Where you go for events. When to jump out and say something versus when you don’t say anything at all.

Back on March 1, Ms. Myers proposed six debates with Mr. Bryce. (Remember, the opposite party’s candidate can take advantage of debates as well.) Even presidents only do three.

Debates also cost money. Unless there are a lot of rich people in WI-01 who want to pay for debates, the candidates have to do that. That’s money that can be spent against the other party.

I can’t say which tactics would work there, but the strategy of a political campaign is to win.

Yep. What’s his strategy on winning the general, hoping that Democrats will go out and vote for him because he’s not the Republican?
