The only way you can get pregnant from swimming in a hotel pool is if you’re having sex in that pool.

People have mentioned the chemicals in the pool, but another issue is temperature. Sperm can stay viable inside the vagina for (i think) up to 3 days,(yikes!), but sperm rapidly degrades if not ‘stored’ at the right temperature.

I recall a story — it may be a “sea story” — about a couple in the ACW. He was wounded in a place which is guaranteed to make all of us mere males cringe. The bullet supposedly went through one of his family jewels and finally lodged in the abdomen of a spectator, an otherwise virgin girl.

Got her right in the Fallopian tubes. As she recuperated, it was noticed that she was pregnant. The story I heard said that the soldier hunted down and married the girl, and they lived more or less Happily Ever After.
