Seriously, if we’re going to go down this road then why don’t cops shoot at people who drive recklessly on the freeway to evade arrest? Those people are armed with a car and they’re endangering everyone around them. Those people are generally suspected felons in the active process of a continuing, dangerous felony. Why the double standard when it comes to an unarmed black man fleeing on foot?

IIRC, episodes of Cops or similar documentary shows have included rare situations in which cops do shoot at fleeing cars. They usually go for the tires with shotguns. Then there are the two newspaper delivery ladies in LA who had their SUV aired out.
