Admissions counselors from the University of Virginia accepted plane tickets from a Chinese education company accused of admissions fraud, according to a Reuters report.According to the story, posted at noon on Friday, UVa admissions counselors admitted to accepting the tickets from Dipont — an education company that the Reuters report accuses of massive college application fraud— in 2014.
According to the report, Dipont claims UVa officials — along with officials from several other universities — have personally advised Dipont students who were applying for admission to U.S. colleges.
Vanderbilt University, Wellesley College, Syracuse University, Tulane University and the University of Southern California are among the colleges also implicated in the report.
