That they say it’s meant to provoke speculation about the meaning, that “it’s just an okay sign” and they tricked people—well, no, the simple fact that they’re doing a meta-use of the gesture means they’ve given it a meaning beyond OK like normal sane fucking people use the OK sign.

In context, it’s the “we’re Nazi-wannaabe Trump limpet fucksticks doing a hand sign that we agreed to do.” Semiotics aren’t fixed and are contextual. It’s now the “Nazi-wannabe Trump-limpet fuckstick photo thing” when they do it because of repetition.
