it saddens me that even when i take away all the gamer stuff - who knew what, should have known, couldn’t have known, wrong house. take away that they dont even try to validate the situation, etc:

they executed this man from behind a wall of shields and armor that easily could have protected every cop there for at least the 10 seconds it took to see what his hand was doing, if anything

I think we have to acknowledge the role of the NRA, right-wing media, and its political cover for our outa control gun culture. LEOs have to assume that everyone is armed and dangerous for their own protection. Hyper alert and ready to fire. This is directly causative of deaths of innocents, such as this man and so many others.
