We can’t underestimate too how war exhausted the world was at the point. I mean don’t get me wrong. Hitler needed to be confronted. And I am glad that the Allies did what they did but the people who blindly attack Chamberlain totally ignore how WWI impacted the people of Europe.
And if the West had intervened to save Czechoslovakia they would have had a democratic ally who could defend themselves when Germany also wasn’t ready. Instead they waited to intervene to save the Poland of the Colonels—one of the most squalid little regimes in history—whom they could do nothing to help.
