I think Trump was behind Modly’s “resignation.” The way he talked about it yesterday at his mind-numbingly horrible press conference, it was clear he was going to do something like this. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Crozier be reinstated. It’s just the kind of thing Trump would do to try to pander to military members, and Modly was so obviously aping Trump with that speech that he knew it looked bad for him.
