And that is a big difference that I have been seeing lately. It’s the mainstreaming of this craziness by major players in the conservative movement.

Many of these nuts and their mindset has been around longer than some of us have been alive, but I don’t ever remember it getting the pay it gets right now.

Maybe the internet itself makes it so much easier to reach out from ones basement and touch so many more people?

There is no distinct leader in the Republican party. By appeasing these wing nuts, certain factions are scratching the litterbox for power footing. Until a decent Republican raises his voice above the mewling litterbox crowd, we will hear more and more about this group or that group “taking over” the Republicans.

Who gains if the perception is that the Republicans have been taken over by the wingnuts?
