Belief in God as a Prime Mover behind the creation and laws of of nature is perhaps a superstition, but one that can be reconciled with most of modern science, as the two do not overlap.

Belief in God as an intervening agent in the day-to-day functioning of the world and universe is possible only by rejecting science and embracing superstition.

Fine… I’ll go along with your supposition above… so, what benefit arises from this belief ” in God as a Prime Mover behind the creation and laws of of nature?”

If believing in god as “an intervening agent in the day-to-day functioning of the world and universe is possible only by rejecting science and embracing superstition” then what purpose does believing in god accomplish?

So… if someone is sick or dying, you don’t pray for them? You don’t thank god for anything in your life (short of humanity being an afterthought of a non-intervening deity)? Anyone worshipping god is simply giving wasted hours to a god who has abandoned us to our own devices.

What’s does you belief accomplish?
