Meh, you’re right there. To the end user, all of these systems look the same: “Something broke, call the tech dweeb.”
The backhand compliment here is that the end user’s get in the habit of calling certain IT people when they have issues instead of using the Help(less) Desk. Conditioned response from getting useful support instead of an on-going runaround.
