re: #177 HappyWarrior
I feel ya but here’s the catch. Bolling even though he ranked higher than McDonnell in Kaine’s administration. We elect governor, lt governor, and AG separately. So even though McDonnell ranked lower being AG than Bolling who was Lt Governor. He let McDonnell run for governor first with the understanding that he’d have a clean path to running for governor this year. Of course, Cuccinnelli threw a wrench in those plans when he decided to become the Tea Party’s favorite AG. Part of it is I think Bolling’s ego is hurt but I also think that part of him feels that Cuccinnelli is too nuts for the state.
What could McDonnell do if the base was hot on Cuccinnelli, sabotage his own man? You can’t always stop someone from jumping the line.
