True but plenty of ours happily vote Republican and they likewise haev been screwed by conservative policy. I just wonder why the Scots and to their credit have not fallen for the politics of racial and immigrant resentment like English working class folks and indeed many American ones.

A large number of immigrants to Scotland are Polish and eastern European.
A not insignificant number of Poles have Scottish ancestry, dating back to the 1600s.
