re: #167 Birth Control Works

You know, I really have to wonder who is pulling the strings here. McConnell and the whole GOP are behaving as if someone/thing very powerful has the goods on them. It’s beyond politics, even beyond obsession.

It’s as if someone has a metaphorical gun to their heads.

Normally, I’d believe that this was just CT-think, but when it comes to “healthcare reform” (i.e. the TrumpCare/Republican “just-go-off-and-die-in-the-street” model), I’m starting to think there may be something to it. I can think of very few legislative initiatives - ever - which have been pushed so hard by a national Party with so little public and/or institutional support. And pushed repeatedly, in the face of genuine popular backlash, with so little (usually zero) regard/respect for contrary opinions: all those GOP Reps who refused to do town halls, or even listen to their constituents? McConnell’s carpet-bombing of Senate procedures to try to push “repeal”?
