In all my years here in the Czech Republic, I’ve only ever seen a tiny handful of classic Beetle’s running around. There’s actually more Citroën 2CV’s here than Beetles.

My college roommate had one that was basically held together with bondo and duct tape. The heater didn’t work, which wasn’t a big problem when he lived in Texas, but wasn’t ideal when he came to MA.

But he could drop the engine with the help of one strong friend and keep the damn thing running when most cars would have long ago given up the ghost.
