I just can’t believe that anymore. The GOP’s manic hold on every last shred of power they continue to possess makes any thought that they will ever again be a party of principle and law ridiculous. Trump is just the first recipient of this total abdication, but you can be sure that any Republican holding the office going forward will receive the same protection from their loyal cronies in the legislature.

I was thinking more of past tense… either Bush or Reagan coming out and personally attacking the head of a major corporation is unthinkable, and I just can’t imagine the Congressional GOP of their times would have gone along with it.
