How stupid do you have to be, to commit extra felonies while covering something up, that could otherwise be done legally?

Paying someone some money to not go to the press should be a relatively simple matter for a competent lawyer. But instead Michael Cohen tried to cover Trump’s tracks, and has given the FBI one of the easiest crimes to convict him of.

Assuming that he did lie on the bank loan application, all the FBI has to do is show that it was him that filled out the form….they don’t need to prove collusion, they don’t need to show state of mind, they don’t need to explain complicated financial transactions to a judge or jury.

All they have to do is show that Mr Cohen used the money for paying someone off, but didn’t write that on the application form.

Anybody around tRump is just going to be completely incompetent. Even Bush the Lesser, incompetent as he was, kept people around him like James Baker and Dick Cheney (say what you will about him, he was competent) because he recognized his limitations.

Trump and all his spawn and spawns-in-law and sycophants are so superlatively incompetent they can’t even conceive what competence means.
