Best hope at this point is that a Romney ticket is enough of a drag that it hurts the GOP done the ticket. That the base is too dejected to show up and independents are too scared of the GOP’s plans to vote for them.

Yep. I don’t think they will lose the House but hopefully they lose enough seat to pressure Boehner and McConnell.
