Love Costco, but you do have to scrutinize their prices on some stuff. Beef is one item where you could do better at the grocery store.

Yeah I don’t really know why their beef prices are so high. I don’t think the quality is appreciably higher but I could be wrong. I know they pay their employees more so that’s probably part of it but they should be able to make up the difference in economy of scale. Part of it probably to subsidize the $5 roasted whole chicken price which they keep as a loss leader. They also part the unsold birds out at night and set out trays of chicken quarters for $5 that usually sell out fast soon after they open.

Anyway I love Costco but the crowds are bullshit so I generally don’t like going there more than once a week.
