It is sick, but it’s also a reflection of NR’s choice to refuse to speak out against the things they know are some of the GOP’s biggest problems. They’ve spent decades denying the racists in their midst, and they’re still doing it in regard to the alt-right because they need those votes. Those votes are more important to GOP politicians than anything else. I know from observing them over decades and their cowardice in opposing the vileness in their party. They’ll tap dance around all day on TV in order to avoid giving the answer they know is the correct one to any question. Case in point is Betsey McCaughey who is still lying through her teeth about voter fraud the same way she lied about death panels in the ACA.
