Heh. I hear you, dude, about that “Ford Expedition being the smaller/smallest vehicle available” thing: it happened to us about 1999 in New Mexico: rented an Expedition ‘cuz it was cheaper (and thus *presumably* smaller) - and were thoroughly appalled at the size of it when the Hertz Guy brought it out. On the one hand it was kinda nifty nodding to big-rig truckers at more-or-less eye level while buzzing by them on I-25: OTOH, Mrs. Jay (not to mention our 5’1” friend and her 5’4” husband with whom we were staying) found it a bit hard to get in (or out - ladders were not included).
