On second reading, I have to disagree with your assessment. Even the worst of the “Freedom Caucus” would never stand up in the wake of a shooting at a mosque and suggest that not only did the victims deserve their fate for the “crime” of being Muslims, but go on to suggest that any who identify as Muslim are valid targets for violence. This is a brand of hate that, shocking as it may be to say in this day and age, still seems to be something the worst Republicans are hesitant to say out loud.
