Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. So, forced birth anti abortion extremists are now going on about ectopic pregnancies, claiming doctors should take a watch and wait approach, thinking that somehow there can be a good outcome with a live birth?

These people are out of their fucking minds.

Ectopic pregnancies are among the most dangerous conditions a woman might face. It can cause uncontrollable bleeding and death. Why take a watch and wait approach? Oh yeah, because a fetus (alive or dead) is more valued than a living woman. And with ectopic pregnancies, there’s no hope for a good outcome with a live birth.

You’d have a dead fetus and a dead woman.

The cruelty is the point. The control and loss of agency is the point.

Apparently about 1 in 3 million ectopic pregnancies have led to a successful birth — where the fetus is in the abdomen rather than the fallopian tubes, it can on a very rare occasion work. It’s criminal that anyone is promoting the notion that anything other than an immediate abortion is an acceptable approach to this condition. Any health professional who suggests a wait-and-see approach should immediately forfeit their license.
