Not if it is going to cost us votes to retain them. If Bernie can win the nomination on the first ballot or later ballots by winning delegates from other candidates or superdelegates who can weigh in after that first ballot, then a lot of people are going to find something to bite down on and pull the lever for him in November. But if you go to the convention and crown him the nominee simply because you don’t want to anger the kiddies, then you might as well write off the election because the party stalwarts are gonna bail en-mass.

He literally can’t win the nomination that way. I’m hoping the frontrunner at the end of the primaries, whether its Sanders or someone else, will have a majority of delegates going into the convention, either because he won them or through deals with the other candidates with delegates, so that the convention is a unifying process and not a divisive battle. The party stalwarts are the least likely to bail; that is why they are stalwarts.
