Here’s some info I use on my lecture slides:

Chinese Exclusion Act (1882)
excluded Chinese immigrants for 10 years
renewed not repealed until 1943

But the quota for Asian countries were 100 per year until 1965.

That’s why that year is such a watershed event in Asian America…
