re: #172 Obdicut

Oh, sorry, you must have misunderstood me. I didn’t mean anything like a Manichean division, since I’m comparing two things that are both terribly nasty in their own fashion.

I’m on a diet at the moment and kind of woozy, so I think I may be missing part of what you’re saying, or I’m not making myself at all clear.

The struggle for civil rights has been long and multifaceted; this latest moment is just one of many, but it’s important to note the specific facets it has. In this case, open racism has become more acceptable, hate groups are swelling in membership (hey-o), and actual legislative racism is back in vogue in a big way.

More acceptable and “open” in what context - the one that pretends it ever went away/underground/hidden or ever became unfashionable in the first place?

Part of noting those specific facets is the acknowledgment that for the targets, nothing about them acting out their pathological race rage directed at us is new or novel. That includes eliminationist sentiments on internet message boards.
