Probably Yes and No, respectively.
The use of the presumably-more-offensive “****” is what makes the difference, though: maybe not here: but “here” (no offense meant, Lizards) isn’t where the main debate is going to take place…..

I’m surprised no one seems to have brought up Harry Truman yet in this context: he once publicly threatened to beat up a music critic who panned his daughter Margaret’s concert - and never apologized AFAICR - but then old Harry was accustomed to speaking out for himself (and made it clear he was reacting as a father, not the President): I notice The Donald has been personally silent (?) about the Sam Bee flap… typical.
