I’m beginning to think that Facebook is becoming one of those “benevolent monopolies” like Standard Oil that needs to be broken up for its own (and the public’s) good.

Not sure how you would go about breaking up Facebook. Would you prohibit people from joining it and make them use other social media companies, because there are already quite a few of them; Facebook is just the biggest.
