OK now I have listened to every cover of the “Greenland Whaler Song” and this is the best one:

Why is this song happy and fun while other covers are all solemn and sad because some whalers died doing the dangerous job that they signed up for?

The crew is back in port and relaxing at a dockside pub, lifting a pint in memory of their shipmates who didn’t make it home. Because most of the time you got the whale but sometimes the whale got you.

Also it makes me want to pick a banjo. :)
