I left my entire LP collection in the ‘States when I emigrated to Europe in 1988, that is about when CD’s were starting to come out and I figured I would just start from scratch, so to speak, as most of my collection was in pretty dismal shape anyways from owning cheap turntables with shitty needles.

The first CD I bought was Abba “Gold” in 1984. That was fookin’ expensive back then.

I had a Radio Shack CD player I also bought which cost about $800, which would play one CD and was programmable!
