European political thinking is vastly different than it’s American counterpart. Thomas Sowell’s A Conflict of Visions is the book to read if you want to better understand the differences not just between euro-thinking and American thinking, but to understand the foundational reasons why the thinking is such a departure of one from the other.

One of the books I’m assigned to read (don’t know if I’ll make it) for my Final Thursday is Uberpower by Joffe. Have you heard of it?
