re: #182 lawhawk

His current coalition is Likud 27, Yisrael Beiteinu 15, Shas 11, Jewish Home 3, Independence (barak’s party) 5, and UTJ 5.

National Union and Jewish Home are the big gainers (getting around 12-15 seats) expected along with Yesh Atid (new party led by Yair Lapid and likely to get around 8-13 seats). Likud/Yisrael Beiteinu are expected to get around 31-34 seats.

It takes 61 to form a majority government. No party in Israeli history has accomplished that. A coalition government is inevitable.

Watch Bibi court Lapid and National Union/Jewish Home to get to 61, with a continued presence of Shas and UTJ. Complicating matters is ongoing issues with trying to get some form of the Tal Law passed (addressing religious exemptions to military/government/public service in some form).

What’s the projection for Am Shalem? Are they any kind of competition to Shas and UTJ?
