That’s because drug addiction is a terrible companion. You feed the addiction with the vape, so it becomes obvious that smoking wasn’t a pleasant pastime. It’s a horrible drug addiction that kills you early and makes you smell awful, but addicts rationalize their behavior. Good luck getting free. I did about 20 years ago with the help of an anti-depressant, after failing so many times on my own.

I am just so fastidious that I hate the smell (and especially the lingering smell on clothes, walls, furniture and cold ashtrays) enough to wean myself off ciggies entirely about five years back.

I am now to the point that I can enjoy one now and again at a party without falling back into it.
