I agree, but this forces a decision- military compromised, or not? If compromised, from where? Kelly to JCOS? Do we already have a coup?

As #179 KingKenrod suggests, the “normal” purpose of these reports is to reassure the American people that the president isn’t going to have a heart attack behind the desk in the Oval Office. Trump has fucked up so many norms that nothing seems to really work right. I don’t think the military is compromised, and I don’t think we are going to have a coup. There is too much diffused power in our system to make a coup a real possibility.
