Well, of course there is.
One thing I marvel at is how whoever-is-in-charge keeps these things from being labeled on Google maps/Earth, when everything else seems to be tagged with a zillion photos.
Since your a geologist, here’s something that puzzles me: all around the western US are small volcanoes and fields of volcanoes and when I go read something that has been written about them it seems like many were active 20k-10k years ago, then stopped.
I find the timing of it all intriguing.
Do you know if the melting of glaciers (such as in the Sierra Nevada or lower Rockies) at the end of the last glaciation, could have caused enough rapid rebound… that somehow briefly caused a flurry of volcanic activity in this part of the world?
