Kind of off the subject but I thought I’d share this Christmas gift.

My late father’s Montblanc pens

My mom gave this to me for Christmas. I recognized them immediately and began crying.

There’s a funny story about these pens. My dad was a poor Oklahoma farmboy who did good in the post-WWII economy. But he had no idea how much some things cost. When his boss gave him those pens, my dad threw them in a drawer or something, just thought it was “a gift, meh.” A few months later, his boss asked him about the pens. It was at that point my dad did some checking and realized he’d been given a very nice gift. And then he had to find where he’d put the pens and make sure they were in evidence at work.
