That at least made sense; the abattoir that was WWI, the Bolshevik Revolution and aborted Communist revolutions in parts of Europe, the redrawing of national borders on a scale unseen since the Thirty Years War, the utter collapse of four long-standing empires…..that provides an obvious context for the rise of Fascism in the interwar period.

Today? Not so much.

Today it is a lot of people who are convinced that the reason they have less is because “those people” are somehow getting more, while the 1% just laughs and grows richer.
